Medial Wḁ Consonants!


In Burmese scripts, medial wḁ consonants locate in the middle of a word. Its indicated by the wḁ-swe symbol, as shown in the example: ( ခွ ၊ ချွ ၊ ခြွ )

For example, when the Vowel follows the medial wḁ-swe consonant, the pronunciation of the combined unit can differ from the original sounds.

Like in many Asian languages, Burmese scripts have formed a combination between Consonants and Vowels.

To approximate the sound of the word accurately, learners should be aware of the medial consonants.
